I have a 12 inch tig which has been with me since it was just 5 inches. My concern is that its stripes haven't improved or developed to be even or symmetrical. Does my catfish still have hope?

Like armac said, some people prefer them with random stripes and some don't.
Just like people prefer datnoids with random bars over classic bars.
Ive never kept a tig before but I have seen pix of a tig over a period of time develop. A 12 inch tig is not full sized yet so it may still develop as it grows.

It's not a jurense. It's 100% tigrinus. 
If it does retain its random pattern, I hope it ends up to be a cool pattern.
