Ok I have had this tig almost a week and he has yet to eat. I have tried sinking pellets, floating pellets, live black worms, frozen bloodworms, guppies ( he is to slow to catch, ghost shrimp. I refuse to let a 300$ fish kill it's self. He is about 4-5".

I got one about 6 months ago... he didn't eat for just over a week... i tried everything as far as pellets, meaty foods, and whatever i could think of... after about a week i put minows in... when the lights were on the feeder fish saw him coming so he couldn't catch them but with the lights off he could... but they can go a long time without food... i would keep try the pellets. you could also try adding garlic on the food... it will help him to try it... getting off live food sometimes can be hard

also did you ask what he was on before you got him? i would try whatever it was just to get him heathly then you will have to starve him again if you want to change him to something else... all depends on the one you have to how hard it will be... goodluck

Ok well I saw him eat black worms today only a few. His belly looks round is that how they normally look like or maybe he ate when I didn't see. Also is it ok go leave black worms in the tank? My Plecoptera seems to clean them up. But being so small I can't get them out. Will that be ok leaving them in there?

Thought you paid $1000 for your tig? :screwy:

At least that's what it said on your CL ad and MFK ad when you had your other cats for sale..

More details about your current setup and water quality might help resolve the issue sooner. What is your ph? What is the temp? What size tank?

I'd try feeder guppies at that size if he isn't eating well. Usually I've found it tougher to convert Tig's to massivore/carnivore pellets when they were under 10". You might also try night crawlers cut in half

Id set it up in a small tank by itself. Feed when the lights are out. And blackworms a couple times a day until it starts putting on some size. Then convert to other foods. Tigs are river cats they like cooler fast moving water. Make sure you have some sort of current in the tank

At 4-5", a few feeders can do the trick.

My most recent tigrinus was trained over to pellets in a matter of days by feeding zebra danios. The danios were fed sinking carnivore pellets. I would drop them near the tigrinus, and when the danios got close, he would eat the danios. However, they're a fairly fast little fish, and the tigrinus missed a few times. It was blind luck that it happened to inhale a pellet, but after that, pellets meant food, and it has been zero effort since. I feed every other day to my tigrinus/zebra pleco tank.
