I was wondering what a full grown one get up to, and would be able to keep it in a 6ft tank, for a while before i upgrade say in 3 years, My lfs has got 5 in at £250 each at around 4" each. What should i look for in one when purchasing

Hello mate, they seem to max out around 20"-22" but can push 2 foot. I think a 6x2x2 should be ok for 3 years but then a wider upgrade will be needed. Like most big cats they spook if wiskers touch sides both sides of tank.

£250 is abit pricey for a 4" tig, I have 2 from different people, both 3-4" and one £80 and other £130. Just look that their feeding well and they will grow like weeds. Mine doubled in size in 3 weeks on feeders. Markings will really change as they grow so dont worry if they look abit plain. If I was you, I would leave them in the shop for a few weeks to grow then try and get for better price. Hope this helps

yeah £250 is a bit pricey, Pier Aquatics have 8-9" ones in for £280. Like Jake said it would be ok for a few years in a 6x2x2

Thats a good price, if I was you I would drive down to peir for one of them. Plus you'll be able to put it in your big tank without having to grow on (you would have with a 4 incher) and it'll be alot hardier.

Huge airation and polyfilter are a must

im not in a rush at all still got some fish which would needed moving first and i will need to get the cash we looking around 3-4 month time before ill decided to get one im sure by that time they will get some growth on them and it will be worth the cash.

they allway's seem to be around so im sure in 3-4 months you will be able to find one
