Okay, I'm assuming this is the right place to post this. I just wanted to know some general facts about these guys, such as temperament. I hear they are aggressive, but what would you compare it to? I've only ever kept central and south americans before, and someone offered these to me and I'm considering them.

Other thing to note as well, how are they with digging and with aquatic plants? Would they tear things apart or would they not mind them? I know its more or less a general rule with cichlids to not mix them with plants, but I know it can be done with some things such as rainbow cichlids and fire mouths and jewel cichlids, among others.

I have kept Tilapia bythobates, which are commonly confused with, and supposedly a bit larger than snyderae.
When not spawning, they are no more aggressive than your average aggressive cichlid.
When spawning, they can do significant damage, mine would kill other cichlids 3 Xs their size, and drag the corpse to their school of fry to feed on.
They need a fair portion of vegetable matter in their diet.
Mine would sometimes spawn in caves, sometimes spawn on the front glass, they 1st spawned at barely 3", in a community of Central Americans. Mine topped out at about 7".
