this is a question for ash...today at my work we got in three fish they are large male around 15 inches females 12-13 the male a dark grey to black and the females are a tin color...the male has red line on his mouth and fins..i think its a type of tilapia but not sure u have any ideas and pics...
 
I'm not Ash, but could this be it. This is a tilapia rendalli. They can have more or less red.

nah the body was alot more elongated and the pigment was really dark like a black for males and a grey for femalse..and the female had like a 90 degree angle forehead..

Thats what it looks like?? hmm doesnt sound like a butti or a paratilapia, maybe a mozambique tilapia/oreochromis mossambicus? hmm most likely going to need a good picture b/c there tons of types of tilapia =)
 
yeah ash i believe its a mozambique....seen a pic online and looked like it to the tee..ill get pics...

yeah im tryin to get the pics...when they came in that day they were already digging a nest and where getting ready to breed...so hopefully when i go in tonite there will be some babies..and ill try to grab a few to get them bigger ive never seen them before in petstores are they common and are they a mouthbrooder.and ash how fast do the babies grow are they slow like kribs..or faster... thnx peeps
