Hello everyone, i guess i can say this is my first diy project with something to do with the tank itself. Ive built plenty of stands but nothing to do with the tank. I've seen many people on here have tile in there tanks. My next tank ill be getting will be some wheres near November and im soo sick of the sand. I like sand and how it looks but to clean up wuts left from food and fish wastes its a HUGE pain. I have the pump thing but that's really meant for gravel and doesn't pick anything up. So i want to do tile becuz Ive herd its a lot easier to keep clean AND it looks very nice! I know its prolly really simple but how do i go about it. Just any type of tile will work? and just any kind of waterproof caulk?

i would try not to use caulk just find slate that is biger than what you need and cut it down to size i have seen some put in a thin layer of gravel between pieces to make sure thier is no shifting but this is unnecessary. if it was up to me i would save the money and just paint the bottom of the tank black or whatever and do a bare bottom this makes maintnance even simpler then slate or tile at the bottom of the tank
