Hi all,
I recently purchased some 600 x 600mm natural multi- coloured tiles for the bottom of my tank. My question is will putting these tiles on the back of the tank cause any problems, if not do you think it would look better or worse than a black background?
I have no worries about the extra weight put on the stand as I made it myself(chippie) out of 6 x 2, the worry is about the weight on the glass.
Any info from all you DIYers and tinkerers would be great.
Cheers
Joe

I would think that if you siliconed them to the back glass.

What size glass (thickness). Anything over 1/4" should be ok

hey should be fine i tiled my 5ft just make shore you use a 5mm space between tiles and make shore there is an expantion join between the base and the back of the tank i siliconed the tiles down so if there was any movement it wouldn,t affect the tank i also used cement based grout then used grout sealer and put 6 coats of that on it seals the grout so water doesn,t leach through and send your water all over the place looks great i used slate on mine as i get it cheep from work (i,m a tiler) good luck btw my tanks 10mm glass
