Was getting super bored with the hobby. I have a 300 gallon that was severely overstocked and over filtered with a few monster fish, no decor nothing fancy....just big fish and water. Prior to the pandemic family and friends would visit and be amazed by the size of the fish but not the tank. Made the decision to sell all my fish except my 18 inch Jardini to a much bigger and better home and after 20 years in the hobby do my first species only tank. Took the time to get a ton of driftwood, river rocks and sand. Spent several days getting the tank just right and then started buying the species I wanted which was the green terror. I have 7 GTs in the 300 now ranging from 6-10 inches and one smaller 5 incher with my jardini. I know jardini are known to be psychos but I've had mine for quite some time with ZERO issues. I'm loving the new look and wanted some opinions and thoughts. First pic is the before the change.

There's been no aggression, fin nipping or beefing between the GTs and/or the Jardini. There's quite a few "safe houses" within the tank but everything has been great thus far.

Personally I do not understand the appeal of your before tank
But that is my opinion. While the fish are awesome it looks more like a display to show off a possession, kind of sterile. Your new tank is beautiful, a work of art. For me it displays the fish so much better than a a bare tank that has nothing to do with a fish’s natural habitat. For the longest time I just had tanks, lots of tanks with fish I liked. When I finally got established in my “forever” home I decided that I wanted a tank and now tanks that showed off the beauty of the fish not just a prison cell. I think you hit a home run with the new tank.

Good move!

Love the new tank, it's pleasing to the eye, really relaxing to look at while your first tank reminds me of a fish market ?
