Black diamond female is 17-18” and boesemani hybrid female is 15” so in my opinion I don’t think they’re ready to breed. But so far they’re holding their own as he’s been very persistent on bothering them. And it seems he’s getting more beat up than either of them. So I’ve been just keeping an eye on them as everyone’s still eating and not showing signs of over stressed from the biting going on.Are the females not mature then?
BD is 16 months old and the boes girl is 11months old. From the size you state it sounds as though your females are of breeding size or at least the BD is. Do you know their ages?
So far it’s just lite nips on the edges. But like I said they’re fighting back and he’s getting more of the damage than them. But thanks for your experience and knowledge. I’ll keep an eye on them and if I need to I’ll move him.Neither are mature then. I would separate if they are being damaged.
A young male that is mature enough to breed will cause A LOT of damage to a female, even if that female has bred before, as the male is inexperienced and not a proven breeder. When the male is learning what to do they can cause a shed load of damage!
