im afraid of them beeing eaten by tank mates. and they have been eating.

no they won't die without the parents but most likely you're better off letting them get eaten by other fish. Convicts are not easy to move at all. After 1-2 spawnings you'll be saying.. "What am I going to do with all of these..?" I have 3 breeding pairs of them and I just feed them to my other fish. You could pull a few if you want some more, but make sure you have the room for them.

Most likely as soon as you pull the fry they will spawn again.

agree with camp..they will be everywhere soon..i had 2 pairs and ended up throwing all the babies in with my knife..just beware of the aggression towards each other after breeding. not sure if others have this problem but both of my males would destroy the female so i had to start removing the female afterwards..

Convict fry are a pain in the butt to move. If like me from the dozens of times ive tried to remove them they will end up darting around like crazy and WILL get eaten. If u really want to do it, i recently removed my convicts fry by usin a turkey baster. Trick is to do it real slow so they fry dont go crazy and when u suck one in turn the turkey baster upward quickly cuase if not they will flow back ou on ur trip out of the tank.
