My 3" irritans has always been a bit shy. Usually only coming out to feed and immediately heading back to his hidey hole. He doesn't like it when I service the tank. My tank is 75 gallon, heavily planted with java ferns, anubias and a carpet of staurogyne repens. I did a water change this morning and a little re-arranging of a piece of driftwood, removing dead plant material and what not. The fish didn't like that AT ALL, and is now sulking in the corner. I'm hoping this is just a juvenile thing and as he gets a little older and larger, he'll become a little bolder and more active. I was under the impression that irritans was one of the more aggressive species, but this one has been a little wuss.
