I have hybrid american cichlid wigglers (as of yesterday), and need to know how you guys time growing baby brine with the fry being free swimming. I've never done the baby brine thing, and I understand they're only good for so long. So I was curious when you guys/gals decided it was time to start the brine in preparation for the swimming fry.

ps I'm using a san fran bay bb kit.

i feed my fry eg yolk all stiried up and use a syringe to despense it. simple and cheap

I have no experience with your hybrids. They may need to start eating externally between 2-6 days. Just watch for the yolk to disappear. Crush some flake. And keep a revolving set of brine hatcheries going. Only hatch enough eggs to do a single feeding.

I normally Put a ton of Java Moss in my Fry tanks, with a sponge filter. The fry will normally eat the micro bugs off the moss.

Like the previous poster said, egg can also be used. I haven't done it like this but many others have been successful.

Yeah, I'm going to say I may be one of the first to exp these hybrids :D I was just trying to base off of what I've read about other c/sa's, and that they fed once free swimming. So I'll just watch the sacs. Sorry, I kind of feel like a moron cause I've been keeping for years and never allowed any fish to multiply. So I feel like a newbie all over again. :nilly:
