Anyone else keep these? Really neat monitors, was interested in seeing other people's and hearing about how they are for them, etc.

Here's my male, Smok (means "dragon" in Polish):

He's about 24", 4 or 5 years old, not horribly friendly (but he doesn't bite, thankfully) but he's a fantastic display animal. I love watching him climb and root around, plus I love his coloration and patterning.

Nice pick up! I almost got timors but settled on Ackies instead. If you've never kept monitors before you'll love how different they act compared to all other lizards. You can pretty much look into their eyes and see how intelligent they are.

Yes, this will be my first monitor that's 100% mine and not temporary care or working with. I'm already loving this animal... just how it watches me and behaves, it's a stunning creature. This is going to be one of my favorite pick-ups... I got a beautiful animal, a custom enclosure (3.5x2.5x1.5 roughly) with built in heating and lighting and all the accessories for the animal for $180. Which leaves me with a lot more cash than I had anticipated, so I can pick up a lot of extra supplies and accessories now.

I have to fix a hinge on it that's cracked and clean out the interior real good, but it's a nice cage.

It's got over head and back-lighting, and that large rectangle on the ceiling is the heater. It actually creates a really nice gradient temperature in the enclosure, and better still, you can be directly on it and it doesn't burn.

He wouldn't let go of his dish and me, so he stayed stretched like that for about 10 minutes before I manually removed him from my hand, lol

^I spy a Tegu tail.. Pics of that.

Haha, yea. That was Jayne, she was enjoying exploring the living room. She interrupted my photos a few times, and tried to get into the chinchilla cage again -_-

Wow, you recognize its a tegu tail? I thought it was the tail of the monitor.
I only recognize tails from Colombian tegus.. (brag brag) lol

Nice monitor!
