okay my tinfoil isnt doing to good!!!!

i can home from school today and found my tinfoil barb flotting still alive!

i had an extra 35g tank that is in the middle of cycling!!

my question is, is the any way i can safe him i upped the temp to 85degrees. I also new that i had to put some aquarium salt into to reduce stress but i dont have anymore!

is there anything else to reduce stress or help him survive?
next time i can go to the lfs could be 3-7 days so any household objects please?

Well, to begin, putting an already very-stressed-out fish into a tank that's not finished cycling is basically putting him to his death. The ammonia and/or nitrite levels will probably do him in. He needs to be in a smaller, cycled tank by himself (do you have a quarantine/hospital tank?) so he can heal. I prefer starting with Melafix for healing, but that's preference. If you use salt, plain old table salt will be fine, added in small increments (once dissolved in hot water). Good luck ..

no i dont think the 2 gallon will be better than the 35.
you should take the filter mulm from an established tank and drop it in the cycling tanks filter.
that might help a little

as long as it's not iodized, do you have epsom salt? small tanks spike quicker than large tanks....test, test, and retest till you get perams under control. do a small water change, like 10% every day for a week to help keep nitrates and ammonia to a minimum. keep tank dark to help ease him for a few days and stop feeding for at least 24 hours. hope this helps.
