I am thinking about in building a 5000 gallon plywood aquarium in my house. I would like to put a big school of 12 inch tinfoil barbs fish so how many is safe to put in the aquarium I am going to use very powerful filtration I know it hard to keep the ph right for this fish

These fish don't need anything special Ph wise. I have kept a group of 4 10" fish before and I have seen them reach about 15 inches. As for a tank 5000 gallons plywood tanks that large are hard to build. I would say 400 Tinfoil barbs that size 12". That tank would need to be 17x8x5 5086 gallons
I have a school of five in my 300. They have gained 3 inches in 2 month there. Good fish if you like larger dithers. Not much personality except when feeding though. Pigs with fins.

Very true, mine barely give any other fish a chance to eat. It's a love/hate relationship for me with these guys
