Hi all! This is my first post on Monster Fish Keepers.

Question...I have 3 4 inch Tinfoil barbs in a 125 gallon tank. How long can I sucessfully house Tinfoils in there? I know they get big and they like to move around a lot...did they still move around that much when they mature?

Thanks for the help!

Danny

From what I've seen and heard they are pretty active fish all their lives. They like to school too, so it's good to have a couple together. I thought mine would be too fast for my gar but in the end he killed 4 out of 5 of them.

I have 5 that are ~11" and 1.75 yrs old. They grew very fast in the beginning but have slowed considerably. I've seen 14" specimens at the local zoo but they must have been very old. Mine eat a varied diet and are in a very large tank so I don't think you have any worries.

What size tank do you have your Barbs in? and how many other tank mates?

Also, can you show me a picture of your 11" barbs! I haven't seen to many that big and I know they look great. Thanks!

I only have two, but I'd say they are around 7 inches... I have two oscars as well, but they are full grown around 12-13 inches. I want a 180g for them for life. I'd love it if they hit the 14 inch mark, but I kind of doubt they will get that big.
