My two tinfoil barbs swimm side byside and rub up against each other, i know what this means when humans do it, but are my barbs doing it?

tinfoil breeding?

I was under the impression they were egg scatters...In which the male would chase the female endlessly around and around, eventually stimulating her to lay....I've witnessed Tinfoils rub vigourusly on each other one time at a lfs....I was amazed and whatched it....Note that I am not a Tinfoil fan(far from it), so this was big for me to whatch....After about 5 minutes they would stop and do it again....Out of the 20 or so 6 inch individuals in the tank, these two were the only ones at it....But, I saw no signs of eggs....WHere am I going with this, I do not know....Maybe you have a pair....If so, congrats....
MINE will not leave eachothers side. I think its normal activity or just friends. If it is a courtship, i cant wait till mine breed.
I have 2 3.5" that does that. I doubt they're mating that young, seems to be more of a dominance than anything.
i have no idea about tfb's breeding techinique bit i have 5 tfbs and they do that quite often @ 6inch. no eggs though.
