Hi guys a few questions about my 4ft tank im setting up. I have two urgent questions :p

1. While removing some silicone i spotted a VERY VERY small chip in the glass UNDER the silicone (I am not sure if it is a chip, its not at the edge of the glass, but maybe where the two plates of glass meets?)...

no cracks anywhere, and maybe its not even a chip, but if i run my fingers through it i can feel a LITTLE SHARP edge? But this tank was running for 2 years before i brought it, and i saw it running when i decided to buy it, but its under the silicone?

Maybe i dug to deep, when removing old silicone so that part is feeling weird? :o

2. Today i removed all the silicone for resealing and MIGHT have dug out a LITTLE to much from time to time when using the razor blade (tank is still stable and fine) is this a problem? Because I will obviously reseal every inch of the tank with new silicone? :)

Thanks guys.

Hi Jay,

I doubt that you gouged the glass when removing the silicone. It's possible of course, but unlikely.

Is the chip towards the top or bottom?

It's hard to say without seeing photos, but I think you're going to be OK. Do a good job of resealing the tank and give it a good 2 or 3 day water test before setting it up in its permanent location.

Good luck to you!

^^ Thanks mate, and yeah its just very small, and it might be me using the blade a lil hard and hittin that part a bit hard... but im sure if i reseal it good, and do a 4 day water test, i would know :).

And i would post pic, but its so damn small it took my finger tip to feel it...you won't be able to see it lol
