Even the somewhat responsible person gets them thinking they can live in a 2-300 gallon tank for life. Only to have a big problem in a year or so. Just wait till it starts eating its tank mates.

Click to expand... thats about normal, maybe even slightly better than average for a red belly pacu. from the size of a quarter to a few inches shy of 2' in around 1 year has been my experience. then real, real slow after that. seems maybe 2" or so a year... they are absolute beasts.
