Today I was looking at how fat my little delhezi is getting, and noticed a few tiny red spots on his body. My first thought was he got attacked by my armatus, but I highly doubt it, they stay out of eachothers way and never seem to even care eachother is there. Also, there doesnt appearcto be any physical damage at all. Second thought was maybe left over pellet bits stuck to his slime coat, but the dots wont come off if I rub it with my finger, plus I havnt feed pellets in a few days and did a 35% waterchange yesterday. His behavior seems normal, still eats like a champ. It could just be nothing and me being paranoid, but thought id ask anyway.

Couldnt get any pics, the red dots are soo small they dont even show up in a high quality pic. Any ideas what it is? Water params are all perfect, no changes made to this tank in over 5 months.

DO NOT rub your finger in the area all that will do is reduce the slime coat and make him more susceptible to disease or infection

Pictures are worth a thousand words, and perhaps a diagnosis.

best to treat it like it has a something for now. up the temp, + salt, up the water change schedule to see if the dots will go away in a week or two, if not, you should try to get a pic. might even want to quarantine him, just in case.

Well dots are totally gone. Went away overnight on their own. Still have no idea what it was, maybe odd pigment in the skin tone? He does have a lighter colouration than most delhezis due to a light tank.
