I have a 6" Tig that only wants to eat live. I really want to get him onto pellets but will settle for getting onto frozen or fresh first. I have tried feeding him only frozen or fresh fish for 2 weeks but then i cave and feed him rosies. Can he go longer than 2 weeks without food? Any tips would be appreciated.

Just keep the lights off for awhile and leave frozen food in the tank. Once he's used to eating inanimate food you can start trying pellets again.

Starting from a healthy condition, I'd say a month easily, maybe much longer. The longest from my experience was 6 months with 6" juruense catfish from the same genus, when weaning off live.

The easier way is tricking. Tigs easily feed off fingers or twizzers or tongs, e.g., get it first to accept a live rosie from hand / tongs. Then a dead rosie. Then a piece of frozen or a pellet soaked in rosie juice / smell. Then straight frozen or pellet.
