Okay,
I've got a 240 (glass) sitting on it's stand in my carport.

Here's the problem.

If we move the tank into the house and put it on the floor and then go back out to the carport and get the stand, how the hell do we lift the 240 off of the floor to get it back on the stand????

Somebody must have had this problem???

Suggestions please?

buy a couple sawhorses to set the tank on. i moved a 240gl acrylic with my 5'4" 100pd wife using a pair of sawhorses.

4 big guys:)

i set tanks on the ground all the time. its only a 240. it doesn't way that much. bring over a few friends and set them on 2x4's when u get inside. or, take the tank off the stand in the carport and place it on some 2x4s, then bring ur stand in and put it where you want it, then bring the tank in after to put it on the stand.

Pizzas and beers...maybe a dancing girl?...
Get all your buddies and their buddies...
The only problem with short man-power is, when something goes bad, it's really bad. Injuries suck, and broken 240's hold no ]V[onsters. ;)

dont invite the lazy ones over. call over the guys you can rely on. hopefully you have some friends that are into fish too so they will treat it as there own tank. im sure they dont wanna be apart of the reason of a broken 240.

2 x 4's.

Why the heck didn't I think of that?:screwy:

What about saw horses? Is that a better or a worse idea?

The hope is to have to lift it from as high a point as possible rather than from the ground.

BTW, does anyone know how much these things weigh? it's half inch glass.

my 240 tall has 3/4inch glass and weighs around 400-500lb
thats a guess but close

i have moved it 3x with one helper after everytime i said next time i would get more help

a good set of those suction cup handles make it a much easier
