I agree, you need to get more socks so you can change them out.

This is my setup. I simply change out the socks every three days. Only two of them need changed because the third is the emergency drain and really doesn’t see any flow. I have 16 socks and just collect the dirty ones in a bucket in the garage. Then, I throw them in the washing machine with some bleach and set it for second rinse. They come out clean like new.

I bought my filter socks on Amazon. They are the Aquatic Experts brand ones and are 200 micron socks. It only takes about a minute to switch them out.

Yeah I have 2 aquaclear 110s on my 80 planted and I never get rid of the sponge unless its all rotted I always throw in a new sponge and keep the old one in there for at least a month before removing the rotted sponge then I leave it right in the tank for a day so the bb will get pulled into the aquaclears been doing this for many years with great results

Thanks everyone. I got new socks and switched them out just now. I introduced three of the discus after drip acclimating them first. So far all is well.
