hey guys and gals,
was thinking about starting a feeder tank for supplemental feeding of my peacock bass and oscars and reduce risk of disease from store bought fish, anybody keep a breeding stock of feeders , things i was wondering were what type guppies, mollies, breeding tips

I keep a 10g for my convicts to breed its a tad bit small but it works, and i keep a 5g for my zebra danios and guppies. i feed them very nutritional foods such as carnivore pellets, live bloodworms, brine shrimp, etc. i like my fish to be spoiled even feeders haha but thats not necessary just have a tank with a filter and heater

Why bother? Unless your only thinking about using them when the cichla is under 5"... my reasoning is do you know how many mature guppies and mollies it would take to feed one 12" P Bass....that be quite a factory production line...I tried convicts, problem was there was always one or two that escaped. Once established in a large tank, convicts are a pain to catch .. need to tear apart tank top get them out..

if your dead set on feeders find a bait store dist..or a pond stocking distributor.depending upon where your at ,you can purchase bulk fingerling's Blue gills etc.. QT them in a rubbermaid stock tank and then feed...

Myself I had my local grocery store order, whole smelt, and catfish chunks... food problem solved and a lot more inexpensive than raising your own feeders and its even less expensive per lb than pellets.

ok just wondering if u could post a pic or something i did a google search theres a lot different fish coming up, are they the orange and black stiped ones?, i got a 10 gal set up w a filter and heater cycling just deciding which fish will be most effective i have heard, guppies, danios, mollies, and now convicts
