so i have 3 silver dollars in my 180 with some ca/sa cichlids and i was wondering if anyone had some tips on feeding them. ive tried pellets and blood worms. the lfs i get them from was feeding them blood worms. the problem is when i put the food in the tank the cichlids eat all the food by the time the sd get there. any tips would be appreciated. and also is there something else i can feed them that maybe the cichlids wouldnt be interested in. i know thats a stupid question since cichlids eat everything but hey maybe someone knows of something. lol

I feed my SDs, Wardley's large flake food. I get it from Walmart, It might not be the best food, but the flakes are really large, so it cuts down on uneaten food getting into the filters.
The Oscar they are in with doesn't pay any attention to the flakes.

have you tried putting food in from both sides of the tank?
maybe feed a little more food?
flake food as others have suggested but crush it up a little so there is more little pieces floating around in the water?

I would try feeding them pellets and flakes prior to putting the bloodworms. That way the food that they have taken in will slow down there eating. It worked for me.
great responses guys thanks a lot. i have found a trick with the bloodworms and they love lettuce. thanks again.
