What are they?? Not netting them but just tips on how to avoid them for jumping.

I want to try and blackout the toplid so the aro can't see reflection just leave enough space for the light

Also avoid sudden movements and fish that like to dart and startle the aro

yes I have the tank covered with no open spaces

yea keep the lid tight, dont spook the fish

LOL u didn't read what I said
I was saying to paint the lid so it doesn't see anything that it may want to eat

yea i agree last time there was a piece of krill it started jumping up

there isn't anything that is sure fire on keeping aros from jumping. You can blackout the tops only allowing the area around the light fixture to show clear for lighting. then they will hopefully get the point but that's not sure fire.

the best I have read is to somehow "pad" the top of the tank so when/if they do jump the injuries will not be great if at all.

the best advise is to make sure something it holding the tops down.

Is this to keep the aros from jumping(which is not likely to happen) or to keep the aros in the tank when they do jump?

Best to have a pliable top that keeps them in but gives to absorb some of the impact to reduce injury. Question is can this be made and still be practical

Ok thanks, I have some buckets on top of the lids. I also donot fill the tank to the top.
