Hi all!! I've been lurking for a bit, and trying to learn more. I've been into angels for years but I recently re-did my 125g and have two 2-3" blue texas. I was thinking of trying to find 1-2 super red dragon's of the same size but I don't know where to start or what to look for As well as what to expect to pay. I've been watching aquabid but I have no clue what to look for.

So, any tips on what to look for in a quality young fish (2-3"), how to find said fish and what to expect to spend?

Thanks!!!!

Expect to spend around $80 for shipping

If bought fish via aquabid and internet before. Philippine blue angels from Ken when they first started exporting them to America. Then angels from Florida and Hawaii and now the blue texas from aquabid.

I just dont know how to find SRD fry nor how to be sure the parent is quality. There doesnt seem to be a breed standard

Quality is usually the eye of the beholder. Most want big kok but not obnoxious.

My lfs has some "AAA" SRD flowerhorns and I can truly say they are beautiful. 3-4 inches with nice kok for 79.99.

It's best to find them local to actually see what you're getting. I had a massive I would call low grade flowerhorn at 18 inch with the biggest kok. I loved the guy but when most people saw him they're like damn that thing has a tumor lol
