My stand is leaning and i have to use my other table for the new stand. Unfortunately, the tank is filled with water and a 3 inch arowana and a longfin pleco. What steps can i take to move the tank?
and how do i not kill the bacteria in the media of the filter because i will have to drain the tank of all the water.

how big is the tank???
Large tupperware tubs...
1) Fill tubs with water from tank.
2) remove fish from tank, put in tub. put airstone from tank in tub with heater
3) remove rest of water
4) depending on size remove substrate
5) get friend(s) depending on size move tank
6) put substrate back
7) put water back w/ fish
8) put is air, and heater,
9) set up filter
10) get rid of stand :)

Is it the 55gal?
Just drain 3/4th of the way down, and lift it. Weight should be around 30lbs. As for your BB in your filter, if it takes more then 3 hrs to move your tank, i would just get a 2.5 or a 5gal bucket fill it with water from your tank and run the filter in the bucket.

Yep, take fish out, drain it, move it, refill it, put fish in and you're done. You wont kill the bacteria as long as you keep the filter media damp.......

i dont have the rubber maid tubs. can i just drain all the water and refill with tap and put conditioner?
also so the bacteria will live several hours if i just leave it out for now?

Yes you can do that. Just make sure you keep the bacteria at the least damp till you get your filters running, a couple of hours won't kill them.....

thanks man i will do the stand change in about an hour cause i gotta wait for my friend to wake up.
ohh and any tips cause my arowana isn't eating pellets and i want to start feeding it pellets.
