Got myself a 6 inch ray a few days ago.
it is currently with my 21 inch xback.
have not seen it eat much, when i drop chopped up small mp , my xback always getto the food first and this xback has a huge appettite.
I'm hesitant to drop lots of small mps as worried i might mess up water parameters?

Any tips also on what to feed besides Mp which ray will like?
its not greedy at all.

Not sure if it takes Krill. i see it excited when a small piece of mp drops on its head, but have not actually seen it swallow the mp.

Give it time to settle and consider next to no lighting on for a few days
You have a bare bottom tank so I would not worry about fouling water with too uch food as ou will be able to see what is leftover easy enough and syphon it out. You got to get food to the Ray past the Aro and you have a big Aro in relation to the Ray. You can try apiece of pvc pipe and drop the food down this into the water straight in front of the Ray but it sounds like he just needs time to settle which can take a week or so.

thanks :) really appreciate the tip, I'll try to use a PVC pipe to get the food to the ray.
btw looking at the ray would you know what is mixed into this ray? :)

Could be anything when it comes to hybrids but my guess would be that there is some Mantilla in the mix mate

Try night crawlers if she doesn't accept pellets in a fee days to make sure you get her eating. She may be a little stress from the aro as most predators attack from above just give her a few days

If it doesn't start getting the food maybe put up an egg crate divider to section him off to stop the arow getting it.

thanks guys :) she was able to eat Small shrimps i dropped last night.
The arowana had a hard time eating small shrimps though he still got some.
btw at this size , will the ray be able to take Massivore?
will Hikari Sinking Cichlid pellets be ok for rays?
those are the 2 pellets i currently have.

Rays are fussy when it comes to pellets but I think massivore is the preferred choice
Personally I feed sturgeon pellets but that is what I trained them on as they are cheaper

thanks. .I dropped a few pcs of msivore earlier, but not sure if she ate them as i had to leave. but she did pounce on a pc hehe.

she is geeedily eating krill now, but when i tried to feed her small chopped up sardines, she just chews on them and spit it out? , can i continue to try to feed that to her? Or should i just feed her krill while she is small?
