I have a tire track eel. Ive had him for a couple of months, he was eating a mixed diet of frozen blood worms, salad shrimp, and earth worms. then about three weeks ago he stopped eating out of my hand. I started laying the food on the bottom of the tank and he would eat it. Now for the last two weeks he wont eat at all. Ive tried everything to get him started again. Beef heart, shrimp, frozen blood worms, frozen brine shrimp and no luck. Any Suggestions would be great

Id start treating for an internal parasite if I were you. Thats about your only course of action as of the moment.

is it possible he may have gotten one from the food I fed him or when I introduced a tinfoil barb to the tank? Cause he stopped eating about that time

If it is a parasite then yes thatd be were I would assume it came from.

the tinfoil i mean, the food you feed doesn't have a high rate of parasitic infection in my experience.

im inclined to agree with you. I've started treating for gill flukes today. I know this may seem stupid but we lost some fish and did not realize their symptoms. I assumed it was stress form moving to a new tank last weekend. But my bala shark got very dark almost black. He died a few days later and the tinfoil barb died the same day. I just wish I would have identified the problem earlier. Now im treating the whole tank. Hopefully he will pull through
