can you teach them to eat pellets?

Most won't eat pellets, but it's not unheard of.

do they get agressive?

Depends, it's pretty much a 50/50 gamble. Some are fairly passive, while others are extremely aggressive. All depends on "the luck of the draw". I had a TT in with my Fire Eel and had to separate them because the TT would pick on it, even though the Fire Eel is considerably larger. Before getting that TT I had another one (which met it's demise after deciding it wanted to explore the world outside the tank) which got along awesomely with my Fire Eel - they almost seemed like best buds.

If you want to mix your TT with others, your best bet is to make sure the TT is as young as possible when introducing it, at least from my experiences.

Tire tracks aren't aggressive unless

A) it can fit in it's mouth as a snack
B) it is a conspecific such as other members of the spiney eel family.

As for eating pellets, they seem to be more gregarious eaters then say fire eels, so teaching them to take pellets is doable, just takes patience and abit of luck.

i too have a tire track and a fire eel in my tank together. my fire eel is 2 ft long so far and my tire track is about 16" long. the get along pretty well most of the time because they have several pipes and places to call their own. with that said, my fire eel does occasionally "snap" at the tire track. i hand feed them and if the tire track swims to me while im feeding the fire, he'll chomp on his head. the tire track gets the idea quickly and scurries off until i move on to his feeding.
like some one already said, if it can fit in it's mouth...it WILL be food.
