Im thinking of picking up a tire track eel my biggest tank is a 60gal, thats where i plan on putting him. Will he be ok in this or is it to small. Theres only 3 other fish in there i have a pool filter sand bottom and some stiff for him to hide in (pvc drift wood ect.)

What size is he now? Depending on his size, 60 gallons may carry you for a while, but they do get big. Also, alot of times people confuse zig zags with tiretracks. My LFS does it all the time. Zig zags can live very comfortably in a 60 gallon for life. If its a true tiretrack, you will eventually want to upgrade. But my guess is that you're ok for now (that is depending on the size right now).

OK sorry if i sound annoying here but if i put one in there would it be like torturing it. I really like eels my dad has a peacock but he hides most of the time and i have seen some pretty interesting tire track eels so i really want to get one of those what would you say the minimal size tank for a tt would be. Also i might just look into a zigzag hows there behavior and personality compare to a tt.

You got a year max in the 60 gal----Less with right conditions given to the eel...

yea i just dont think ill upgrade in a year i just upgraded from a 20l to the 60 a few weeks ago. i might just buy one and sell him when he gets to big or maybe ill get lucky and find a cheep big tank what would be a good size for one 100gal?
