Tire track melanistic ?

I have a tire track I bought a while back colouration is very dark could he be the opposite of an albino or just an extremely dark tiretrack? He has the pattern of a tire track but its only visible under intense light. uploadfromtaptalk1368937802267.jpguploadfromtaptalk1368938336494.jpg

better pic needed for sure.. but looks skinny imo and the enlarged lips make me wonder if it isn't a different species altogether. I don't think it's a odd color variant atm...Mosy spiney ime will go almost pitch black due to stress.
 
Really hard to get good pictures of him had to remove some decor during a water change .no flash on my tablet and the flashlight is too bright. I have owned this eel for over a 18 months last two previous owners also noticed the colour difference. Diet is primarily earthworms.
