Some videos of my Tiretrack, "Maxxis". He's easily one of my favorite fish, but also one of the shyest after my knife. Seems to grow an inch every time I see him. Debating getting another since of my lfs has a 13" TT that they keep trying to get me to purchase, everytime I go in the price goes down again. This one seems super mild mannered and I don't think he would be too aggressive towards another one and they would definitely have plenty of hiding spaces but Im not 100% sure about it

Fish Tank Travis Fish Tank Travis the tire is maybe 11" and an absolute pig. I've had him almost 4 months now. Got him around 8" or so. Didn't notice much growth until the last month or so when he suddenly hit a major growth spurt.

Yeah, it seems that once they start growing they grow pretty fast. My two larger fire eels are around 13-14". My smaller one is similar in size to your new fire eel.

I'm hoping I can get the new Fire to start growing or I might need to move him to the growout for a while. My ornate and endli have both been growing like weeds and tackled full size night crawlers that weren't much smaller than the fire Eel with ease

As long as the bichirs aren't aggressive, I would give him some time. If he's already eating some good foods and a variety of them, then he is well on his way to hitting his growth spurt. If you move him then he will get stressed and it will probably slow his appetite and growth down.

So far no issues with them showing aggression towards the eels. They hide in the same spots all day so I think the polys might have come to just accept the eels as part of their own group

New video. Caught him out in the open just chilling. He seems to be enjoying all the new sandy space and has been out quite a bit more lately
