My tiretrack always seems to have weird bulges along his stomach...Are these normal? Sometimes they are more prominent then others. He seems healthy and eats like a pig still. Would he swallow gravel? If so wouldn't he seem sick?
He is about 8". He's very active and when I feed he's the first one at the top. I feed (all frozen) bloodworms, krill, beefheart, tubifex worms, glass worms, and plankton. Do you think they would swallow gravel?
No I don't think it would swallow gravel, seems odd though you are not feeding anything that is large and would cause a bulge. Is the bulge always in the same spot?
Originally it was just 1 bulge and it would go away and reappear so I just assumed it was from when he ate. Right now he has like 3 different spots. It is possible that he has eaten some fish as I have about 4 that are MIA. I had 3 balloon mollies which I was going to give to a friend but they are gone and nowhere to be found. I also had a regular mollie who was suppose to go to a friend yesterday but is no where to be found. I thought they were a bit big for him yet but???? If it was the fish would they leave bulges in hi stomach until they were digested? I'll have to keep watching because I no longer have any small fish in the tank. I will try to get a picture and post, I may not be able to post it till tomorrow though.
I guess I won't worry about it since he seems healthy. I'll see if he has that problem now that the small fish are gone!! LOL
I see in your sig you have Cichlids....Do you have these in the same tank as your tiretrack? I am looking for some Cichlids that will get along with my tiretrack, Indo tiger dats, and clown loaches. Do you have any suggestions? It is a 90 gallon tank. I am hoping to within the next year or 2 get a 150.
Right now my TT is in a tank with two 3" female convicts, four jaguars cichlids 3-4", two 6" red bay snooks and a 6" orange pike. I have never had any problems with the eel and other fish.
