Seems like all the fish are breeding these days (well, not quite "all). But every day I go down there and I'll find two or three species either laying eggs, guarding a new spawn, or tending fry. I literally can not keep up with them in terms of providing a place to raise their young. Today a pair of Rio Subin 'meeki' and (to my surprise) Astatheros altifrons spawned. This is the first time they've bred (to my knowledge) and I'm going to try and save the fry. the eggs are on the small square of slate. They are in a 50G tank and there are 10 adults (2M, 8F) in there, So it's pretty crowded. The chance of the fry lasting long is slim because the parents have their 'fins' full keeping the others away. I'll set up a 10G and pull the spawn tonight (if they're still there). Here's a couple of pics of the pair with eggs. Sorry for the poor quality of the pics. The glass is dirty and the lighting is dim.
