does anyone know the titles of the specials of national geographic, discovery channel or animal planet that features predatorial fishes? i recently saw the "jewel of the rift" special which features tanganyikan species, emperor cichlid in particular and i just love it.. i'm now thinking of trying to look for and purchase those with the fish that i really like... i saw the ending of one which features the fresh water dorados but i didn't catch the title.. if some one knows of their titles i'd really appreciate if you could post it here..

i'm also looking for features on amazon fishes and other predatorial fish.. thanks

The show was "planet earth" There are a lot of posts on here about it! they just released it to dvd going to get it! Was the bes nature doc in our life....Took them 10+ years to get all that info. There was fresh water rainforest among others the best !

If you want predatory fish documentarys just watch shark week.

Seriously though, I tape just about every fish show I can find on TV.
Here are afew that come to mind. Most of these I have seen or taped, a few I have just heard about.

Secrets of the Golden River
Amazon Abyss
Blue Planet
Planet Earth (particularly the two episodes on the ocean and the freshwater one. The cave episode had some interesting fish species)
Jewels of the Rift
Nigel Marven's "Pirahnas", "Electric Eels", "Bullsharks". You can find those on his websight www.nigelmarven.com
Barracuda! (that one was on AnimalPlanet)
Land of the Flooded Forest
Thrill Zone: Hooked! Monster Fish
Big Mouth is about largemouth bass
Way of the Trout
Sturgeon: Ancient Survivors of the Deep
Paddlefish: An American Treasure
Darwin's Nightmare is about the introduction of non-native Nile perch into lake Vicotria in Africa
Larry Dahlberg's The Hunt for Big Fish It's a fishing show but typically features large freshwater species such as pbass, jau catfish, RTC etc.
