lolll nahhh otherwise id be homeless by now....they are a lot cheaper wen u order in bulk directly from the hikari offices (since shops add extra charges to ure orders) but i still need to control how much is fed. So my fish eat like 5-6 cup fulls of pellets a day (but alternated with hikari spirulina large pellets cuz they are cheaper...).xaznboi;4285997;4285997 said:how long is that gonna last you a week?
i ordered more back cuz my rtc/tsn hybrids have stopped growing much! i dont think the hikari spirulina pellets have enuf protein that these big fish need to grow larger! those spirulinas are meant for sissy fish like koi! and these fish REFUSE dead market fish! so i got no choicexaznboi;4286057;4286057 said:thats some spoilt fish
sounds expensive...but i guess it cant be more expensive than MASSIVORES! ure actually right...i never thot of making my own mixture of food....kinda like zoos or fish farms do....but yeh it sounds like i need to find good, cheap sources of prawns and fish...xaznboi;4286087;4286087 said:make a beef heart mix. pure beef heart is 57% protein or around that, and just throw in blended up prawns and fish fillets to make it more intresting
I remember reading somewhere that someone went into a fish store or the fish section of the supermarket and asked for leftover white fish and a lady led him to a cooler and let him have a bunch of leftovers free. Basically they had to take them off the shelves legally after x amount of days for human consumption and just kept them in there until they were going to throw them out. They were all still good too. As long as you visit them maybe in the middle of the cycle between garbage pickups to balance out freshness and quantity I bet it would save you alot of money. Maybe even try a seafood restaurant near you! Good luck man your pond is simply amazing makes me want to sell everything I own and build one!TLkmDN;4286093; said:sounds expensive...but i guess it cant be more expensive than MASSIVORES! ure actually right...i never thot of making my own mixture of food....kinda like zoos or fish farms do....but yeh it sounds like i need to find good, cheap sources of prawns and fish...
