does anyone here ever catch, or know where/ how to catch some live hatchetfish?
If someone could catch one, and somehow ship it to me, it would be helping possibly one of the first attempts at keeping these in home aquaria.

The one you pictured is a deep sea fish I believe. I doubt it would live in an aquarium. They have smaller silver hatchet fish that are freshwater community fish.

That thing looks pretty cool, I just don't think they are a hobby fish.

they do inhabit the deep sea, but should be ok in an aquarium due to them coming into very shallow water at night to feed. Definatly not a good hobby fish though for 99.999999999999% of people.

not looking for fw hatchets. lol

Never seen one here

they've pulled them up while fishing for mackerel. Oside pier is pretty deep at the end. they get all kinds of deep water fish. Black seabass. ribbonfish, and the ones you mentioned. the biggest i saw was like 6". havnt been there in like 4 years though. if i go ill keep an eye out.
