I personal don't like you guys for one reason. Your snakes arn't living like mine.

This snake is just over 25 inches long so I decided to move her into a bigger tank. Going from a 20 gallon to a 55 gallon could be a bg change but I think she will do just fine in it.

She will be in this until she is 4-5 feet long and then I will move her into something bigger. No I don't think she is spoiled but well loved.

Soon to come, JCP and SAND BOA:headbang2

nice set up ,, i thoutht snakes got stressed if you keeped them in glass tanks??? some thing to do with there reflection maybe???

I have to tell you, that looks like a fine setup, but i don't exactly think that it's the lap of luxury. you got a few plastic plants, some branches, and some water. am I supposed to be jealous?

I won't even reply to a guy who starts conversation by saying he doesn' like whoever..

Well I'm not done yet, Still going to buy 2 XLarge plants. I'm just showing how this is so much better then a punny shoe box.

I think my snakes are doing just fine in my shoe box

But your set ups do look pretty cool, although I dont think I have seen any members here use the shoe box rack system for their herps.

i like your setups .....with a few more plants they will look real good......never really liked the idea of people keeping snakes in shoe/sweater boxes......tanks always seemed fine to me........

I usually never knock people for keeping snakes in glass tanks, but since you were so quick to knock people who choose racks, here goes:

Aquariums are made for fish. Dry, they don't hold heat and humidity anywhere near as effectively as rack systems do. You are confusing something critical here: You are assuming that because your glass tank is visually appealing to you, you think your snake appreciates those things as well. Thats where you are wrong. In no way does your tank setup even begin to simulate their natural environment.

For myself (as well any many others including professional breeders that feed their families breeding and selling snakes), rack systems provide a stable, secure environment for my snakes, and my whole collection is THRIVING. I used to use glass tanks, and after switching to racks controlled by proportional thermostats, I wouldn't even think about going back.

Don't knock it till you try it, please.
