so whats your arow like before and during feeding time?

my girl is always first on the scene next to my flowerhorn

she swims back and fourth pressing on the glass and when im about throw in the food she make a U turn and line up with the food then the second it hits the water WHAM!!!!!!! and usually gets half the cup of food with one strike, sometimes she get the entire top of the tank all wet and sometime myself :swear:. but usually after the first strike shes just casually goes around a scoops up stray pelelts with that big o mouth of hers. after shes all done the others move in for their share of food.

whats your experience?

my oscars and pacus do that. my oscars jump out of the tank biting the container the food is in..then they jump back and forth over eachother in the tank untill i drop food in.. then they all grab the first 1 or 2 bites really fast.. you can even hear the gars mouth snap the top of the water eating floating pellets.

i can tell my silver is hungry by:
it begs similar to an oscar
right at the front of the glass triing to swim through it ;)

When its feeding time my aros would rub their barbles on glass while swimming up and down. The moment the food hits the water they all would rush to it and it'd be royal rumble.

I'll be wet if not for my glass covers. :)

Mines just Swimming around enjoying the currents from the filters an Snatches anything that moves a bit in front of him.

I love all this aro talk. I wanted one real bad but i had been out of the hoby for a while and when I was shopping for tanks, I settled for a 75g and didn't figure it would contain an aro that long. I was wondering what is the minimum size tank for an aro. Could I actually add him to my collection now with a future of upgrading my 75g? I now have a tiger oscar, a lima shovelnose. a clownknife, a red parrot and a clown loach.

For a single silver arowana best go for these dimension

5' X 2' X 2' the larger the better as they could max out at about 3'
