to cut or not to cut?

hey guys
my baby silver aro of about 6 inches has had a retarded barbel since i bought him
and now ive noticed its growing very nasty and demented
should i cut some of it off to grow straight? also if i do cut it of should i cut the other one too to make it straight?
will this kill him?

cut it i didnt cut my silvers lol but my silver's barbel got ripped off by my jar,it only happened half way on 1 barbel it was uneven now its even

damn.. this is getting more and more like those overbred dogs that can't walk or breath correctly.. don't cut the fish unless you are sure that misshapen barbel will be a burden for the fish.. ..not you, jmo..
