Dudes, I have a red tail gourami that has a bend filler(one of the 2 long things under the body), should I take him out and cut it off? Will it grow back again or will it not? it's bend around the half way mark, not near the top where it gets pretty thick..

If i dont cut it, it will stay bend, sigh.. and i'd rather fix the problem before the fish gets large..

I have never tried this on an osphrenemus but I have done this on freshwater angel fish. My experiance is that if the bent fin was caused by an injury and the "bend" is not to close to the body, it can be removed just above tha damage point and typically will grow back correctly.

If it was a deformation, it grew back bent or twisted on most my attempts.

those long things grew back on my golden gourami. they got chewed off in the pet store tank by bigger ones and grew back in a few months

thanks guys, will proceed with the opp soon, better now than never.. :mwave:
