Back story. Currently have a 280 set up at my office. Minimal fish and coral currently. I have a 50 gallon at my house that I’m currently outgrowing with coral and will consolidate to whichever option I go with.

Option A. Move existing 280 (72 x 30 x 30) from office to house. Minimal cost incurred on some new plumbing.

Option B. 375 (96 x 30 x 30) would require more a little more sand. Some additional plumbing and of course would cost a little more than I can sell the 280 for

Food for thought. I’m not concerned with the space. Moving the 375 will be heavier than the 280 but we have the means to do it. The 375 is also located less than 2 miles from me. My office is 8 miles away. Is that extra 2’ of length worth the extra cost. Is the cheese worth the squeeze? Assuming I would keep the exact same stocking list the 375 at that point would provide a smaller bio load for a larger system. More swimming space and territory for existing fish. And the wow factor that an 8’ tank brings although I’m not trying to impress anyone but myself really. And I guess the option to add some more fish if I so chose in the future. I wasn’t looking to upgrade but the opportunity arose for a nice 375 at a good deal and a buddy of mine is wanting my 280 if I end up upgrading. For the record I love my 280. No complaints at all

I'd definitely go bigger if you're thinking long term. Many times I've built a tank and a year or two later found myself wishing I'd had gone bigger. Seems to be the running trend here

Option C is to sell off the overgrowth of your corals and leave everything else as is 🤔 but we all know in the fish geek community that ain’t gonna happen 🫨🤣
