Im building a 700 gallon aquarium and have seen big tanks like this with no gravel. Is there a meaning for doing that? in your opinion on a tank that big would you use gravel?

thank you for your impute :headbang2

I wouldnt, cleaning it would be a lot of work. Im debating rather or not to put it in my 250 gallon pond

awesome thank you. i would imagine as well that ammonia levels will be better without gravel to get stuff cought in and siphoning all that weekly would be a lot of work. ill for sure do without

Yes maintaining it would be much easier.. but I wouldn't be able to enjoy it as much without some cover over the bottom.. without the substrate I don't think any other deco looks good..

Might be worth putting a little more work into it...

What ever you put in there sand or gravel will require a little more maintenance but nothing that will take the fun out of owning the tank.

awesome thank you all for your help you bring up good points about looks and it will be a show tank so i think ill go with pool filter sand and a drift wood centerpiece :D
