On the Rio Araguaia, I wish...
Looking for some advice, I'm contemplating moving my 10-11" planiceps into my 240 with the rest of my fish, 3 pbass 10-12", 1 crenicichla sp atabapo 12", 1 tsn 14", 1 lima shovelnose 10", 1 tigrinus 10", and 1 clown loach 7". I am a little worried about him attempting to eat my tigrinus, I've heard rumors of planiceps getting crazy in what they attempt to eat and the last thing I want to become a quasi feeder is a $200 dollar tig. So...with the cats in there already and tank space do you think they will be okay? The tank is a 240 gallon and sometime around mid january I will be moving all the pbass, pike, and tsn into the pond so it will be the remaining shovelnose and then my juruense which is in another tank and my irwini as well.

i think it'd be alright. i seriously doubt that ur planiceps will be able to eat a tig its same size. one caution is though that the planiceps might outgrow ur tig.

I don't think that it would be a problem right now, but if the planiceps grows more it might be. If you are concerned about it I'd probably say don't mix them. A tig is a big price to pay for some experimentation.

I'm aware the planiceps will outgrow the tig they will be growing up together though and I wouldn't think that it should become a problem for a long while about 2 years or so guessing because they should have similar growth rates. I think I'm gonna do it tonight that way I can move my irwini into the 55 and also clear out a little more space for my juruense in the mean time. Its that or move the juruense at the same time to the 240 and then move the irwinin and SAL into the 55 to free up room in the 20 for baby e cats :) tough decisions indeed, I'll keep yall posted we will see after tonight probably
