To Moving Bed or Not to Moving Bed, that is the question

I have a 6x2x2, so i think its 180, i have the following filters:


Eheim 2080
Eheim 2217
2L Moving bed filter
2L Vibrating bed filter


I have the moving bed and the vibrating bed filters stuck to the back wall of the tank.


My 2080 has 1 tray of Eheim Mech Pro, and the other 2 trays filled with Seachem Martix...the 2217 is packed with the Eheim Blue sponges and is just a big mechanical filter.


My Stock is:


12cm Tiger Oscar
12cm Flowerhorn
10cm Polini
10cm Red Devil
10cm Festea
12cm Jack Dempsy
8cm Green Terror
22cm Green Terror
25cm King Kong Parrot
3 x 15cm Sail Fin Pleco
35cm Black Shark
6 x 12cm Clown Loaches
4 Bristlenoses


Do you think i can drop the moving beds? will the 2 canisters have sufficient Bio filtration without the extra moving beds? (I used to keep discus and used them religiously for them!!)

If it was me I would remove them. The 2 canisters and inside tank will have more than adequate space to produce the necessary bio to support your tank.

so pull them out and just have the 2 canisters?
