Can a person have to much live rock in a tank? I have a 55 gal with about 130 lbs of rock it looks awsome but is it to much.

Yes, i would say you can have too much live rock..

1) it limits water volume
2) limits swimming room for fish..
3) inhibits flow as the water is not able to circulate the rock work as good as it would be able to compared to a tank that has less..

All you need to achieve good filtration for a tank that uses the rock as the filter is 1 - 1.5lbs per gallon of tank water in my opinion.

Agreed. You can go above the 1-1.5 lbs/gal ratio, as some rocks may be dense, but not as large, however, ultimately, you need to be conscious of not only the lbs in your tank, but also of the animals you wish to house, supplemental saturation, surface space, and circulation.
