to owners of both asian and SA aros

just wanna ask u guys is just me or is it really true in your experience that SA aros grow much faster than asian aros? my asian aro just grew 7" in 9 months while SA aro grow an inch per month.

Personal experience, SA aros, about 1" a month, depending on what you feed, tank space etc.

Never owned an Asian Aro but my SA 100% grew an inch or more a month for the first year.

my silver aro has probably avg 1.5 inch a month from 5 to 17 or 18 then maybe .75 inch to 23 to 24 where he is now...

They start off with nearly the same growth rates. The asian does slow down it's growth a bitg earlier than silvers though.

I think in length, SA grow faster than Asian, but Asian grow faster in weight because Asian is a lot thicker !

i would have to say from my exp with SA aros and jars (since i haven't owned asians) the silvers beat out the jars with no contest. 7" in 9 months i would consider slow growth for a SA aro. unless the aro was older. i have not had a SA aro grow 1" a month average, it has always been more then 1".
