I want to know how drastic these PH crashes really are, and how quickly they happen.

I have a 2.5 inch chaca, and so far I have not noticed any PH crash.

I was thinking of putting him in with my Cuban gar, as the cat is always at the bottom, and the gar never deviates from the top, so the chaca would be safe.

I do 2 50% water changes a week, would keeping the chaca with other fish still be risky?
